Derek learned this trade inside three Utah builders, and he can tell you exactly what each of them got right and where we can improve.
Some builders press quality and style over budget and time. Others push time over budget and quality. We believe all three can be captured with careful planning and clear expectations.
Without clearly communicated expectations, builders will target what they believe you want. Every project can pivot to all three categories during the process. MD strives to understand your expectations and communicate ours throughout the project.
I got into this because I wanted to do an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. Some builders have created a bad reputation for builders in general. I would like to be the exception.

The Houses Themselves
Every one of these was run by Derek as the only representative on the project. No assistants, no project managers. They were built under other companies' names, which is why you may have seen them before without knowing whose work they were.
There is no team for anything to fall between
Most builders your size subcontract the running of your project. A superintendent you have not met, a project manager who changes in month nine, an office that fields your calls. Each handoff is a place where something gets lost, and every builder knows it, which is why the good ones make a point of telling you their team is stable.
M&D does not have that problem to solve. Derek runs every project himself - not as a claim about the future, but as a description of how every house on this site was already built. Canyon Gate, Promontory, Orem: sole representative on each, no assistants, no project managers.
You will never have to ask who is in charge. There is only one answer and you will have his number.
